Unit Ordained 13/3/1937. Held several Curacies - Eccles 1937 - 1940 then St Edmund, Bolton 1940 - 1942. Commissioned as a Captain in the Royal Army Chaplains' Department 13/10/1942. Posted 70th Infantry Brigade HQ 27/10/1942. Attached to 187th Field Ambulance as Chaplain 1/11/1942. Attached to 10th Battalion DLI 31/1/1944. Transferred back to 187th Field Ambulance. Transferred back to 10th Battalion DLI March 1944. Believed to have served in Normandy. Demobilised in 1947 then became Curate at Colne 1951 - 52, then Bacup 1952 - 55 and finally St Ann, Stretford 1955 - 59. Sent to Blackburn in 1959 and established a new parish at Shadsworth, including overseeing the building of a Church, the Presbytery and three schools. Retired in 1987 on ill-health grounds.
