In the London Gazette on 11 July 1940 appeared the announcement of the award of the Military Medal to 2029615 Sergeant Henry MOGIE of the 507th Field Company, Royal Engineers.

The original citation for the award is held in the files of The National Archives under File Reference WO 373/15/234. The text of the citation is set out below:-

Coolness, cheerfulness and technical skill in handling the Company Motor transport Section under very arduous conditions and constant aerial attack. At no time was a single vehicle out of service owing to mechanical breakdown. Canal du Nord demolition of crossings and Bergues preparation of bridges on the 18/19 May 1940 and the 25 May 1940 were the principal actions involved although this NCO handled his Section at all times excellently and inspired them to great efforts.

The recommendation is made by Major K. McK. Cameron, Officer Commanding 507th Field Company, and endorsed by Lt Col J.R. Kennedy, Commander Royal Engineers of 23rd Division
