Captain Horrocks, Lieutenant Winton and seventy Other Ranks returned from duty with No. 3 Vehicle Replacement Depot, Ashchurch.

C.O. attended A.D.O.S. Conference at HQ 49 Division.

Lieutenant D Mortimer attended Unit Education Officers’ Conference at the Officers’ Room Herford at 15:00 hours.

Captain T Horrocks proceeded on ten days’ privilege leave.

6 October 1942

Two troop carrying vehicles sent to Ross to transport forty-five Officers and Other Ranks to attend a lecture at the College Hall, Hereford. Lieutenant Winton and nine Other Ranks attended lecture from this Unit.

7 October 1942

Normal routine training.

Corporal D L Buck, Lance-Corporal L C C Gash and Private Griffiths left to attend three-day preliminary course at No. 9 War Office Selection Board for OCTU candidates at Bradbury Barracks, Hereford.

8 October 1942

Board assembled at Bryngwyn for purpose of auditing all non-public accounts. President Major Simmons HQ RASC, Members – Captain Taylor 49 Division Troops Company RASC, and Captain Wagstaffe 147 Infantry Brigade Company RASC.

9 October 1942

C.O. attended Conference at HQ RASC at 15:00 hours.

10 October 1942

C.O> and Captain Poole left at 09:00 hours to make reconnaissance of new billeting and harbouring area.

11 October 1942

Telephone instruction received from Adjutant HQ RASC to post Corporal D L Bews within seventy-two hours to 148 Training Brigade Wootham for preliminary OCTU Course.

12 October 1942

C.O. and Captain Poole returned from reconnaissance.

13 October 1942

Captain Horrocks returned from leave.

C.O. attended Conference at HQ RASC at 10:00 hours.

Captain Poole proceeded on ten days’ leave.

18 October 1942

Lieutenant J Winton proceeded to HQ 147 Infantry Brigade at 17:00 hours with twenty-one troop carrying vehicles for transport duties with that Brigade.

Captain Horrocks left at 07:00 hours with twenty-two troop carrying vehicles to transport 69th Field Regiment R.A. from Crickhowell to Monmouth. Captain Horrocks and all vehicles returned to Unit location at 12:00 hours.

Eight troop carrying vehicles left at 08:00 to carry 146 Field Ambulance from the Racecourse, Hereford to new location at Malvern and returned to Unit at 15:00 hours.

One vehicle reported to 1/4th KOYLI Ross at 11:30 hours for practice embussing scheme and returned at 17:00 hours.
