Private Akroyd was listed on the manpower schedule of Brigade HQ staff in Iceland on 1/1/1941, along with the Lead Researcher's father.  Only surnames were included on the list, unfortunately, which prevented his specific identification in DLI records.  It is yet to be confirmed as to whether this was indeed Frank Akeroyd, who was born in Dewsbury on 12/5/1921, married Winifred Wardle in Durham Northern in January 1943 and died in November 2000 in Huddersfield, aged 79.
