Thanks are due to the Corps Archivist and the team at the REME Museum and Archives for making Cpl Costar's Index Card contents available. Their records begin with his transfer to REME. It appears that this transfer took place from the DLI, and that he was not on the strength of the RAOC at the time. That can only be clarified by accessing his Service Record, held by MoD Historical Disclosures Section.
