Posted to the 10th Bn DLI - probably 1/9/1939. Served with the B.E.F. in France. Reported missing (a report to this effect appeared in the Auckland Chronicle of 18/7/1940). Subsequently known to have been taken Prisoner of War - reported 12/7/1940. Repatriated. Relegated to Class Z Army Reserve 29/1/1946.
