At the urging of his family, Mr Galvin wrote up his illicit wartime diary and had it published privately under the title "An Infantryman's Diary 1944-1945".

The lead researcher acquired a copy via The Rifles Office in Durham and, with Mr Galvin's agreement, will be incorporating his recollections into the appropriate sections of the War Diary of the 10th Battalion.
