Home address Worked as a Baker's Assistant. Had lived in Ashbourne until 1922 and then moved to 13, Ramsgate Road, Margate. In the 1939 General Register he is living with his mother and younger siblings in the house of Amos Scott, a Baker and Confectioner. Fred is also described as a Baker and Confectioner and his sister is described as "under training" in the trade. His mother is listed as a Widow working as a housekeeper for Mr Scott, who is himself a widower of 71 at that time. It is not yet clear whether 13 Ramsgate Road was the Baker's commercial premises. Fred married Freda M. Stevenson (1918 - 1967) in Ashbourne in January 1949.
