Transferred back to The DLI 26/7/40 and was posted to the 11th Battalion. Served Iceland. Served Normandy. Posted to the ? Battalion DLI or a Holding Unit on the disbandment of the 11th Battalion. Transferred to the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry 5/12/44 - DCLI Enlistment Book understood not to be available. Served as a guard at the Luneberg trials. Demobilised 1/5/1946.

Private Johnson was identified via the War Office's "missing" exercise carried out in 1942 and documented at The National Archives, although further information and photographs were kindly supplied by his daughter. to whom we are grateful.
These are a series of photographs featuring Lance Corporal Roy Johnson and were brought back from Iceland.
