Transferred to the Gordon Highlanders 5/9/45, Auth: Part II Order 5/117/45, GORHrs Book 358/14/211, (Book missing) Posted 2nd Bn Gordons. En route for Far East 1945 and diverted to Algiers - part of 6th Airborne Division. Attended War Office Selection Board, Cairo. Posted back to UK for OCTU at Alton Towers. Commissioned in Gordon Highlanders 30/11/1946 as number 373428. Training recruits at Retford Barracks, Edinburgh, alongside 2/Lt Tom Renouf. Discharged 1947.
