Granted a Temporary Commission as a Flying Officer in the RAF 19/1/1935 on being re-seconded for duty with the RAF as a Flight Lieutenant with effect from 1/10/1934, with seniority from 1/10/1930. Promoted Flight Lieutenant on 1/4/1935. Restored to the Army Establishment 10/10/1936. Promoted Major 1/8/1938. Posted as GSO (2nd Grade) (Air Staff Organisation) with RAF Training Command 27/3/1939. Seconded for service on the staff.
Retired on retirement pay 2/3/1948 as an Honorary Lt Colonel. Ceased to be a member of RARO 13/10/1951 on age grounds.
