South Wales District

War Diary for the period January – March 1942.

No reference was made at all to 70th Infantry Brigade during the time they were subordinate to South Wales District, awaiting the return of 49th Division from garrison duty in Iceland. During this time, 70th Infantry Brigade carried the responsibility for work in the UK on the role and activities of a Mountain Warfare Unit.
