Nucleus HQ Fixed Defences established at GROTTA – to move to Artun as soon as personnel to complete arrive. Lt-Col W E Walters-Symons M.C., Royal Artillery appointed C.F.D. (presumably Commander – Fixed Defences) and promoted to rank of Colonel.
