1 November 1942 Stanage Park, Knighton.

Company prepared to move to temporary winter quarters. Weather fine.

2 November 1942

05:00 hours vehicles move off to report to Battalions by 06:30 hours. Company HQ, Workshop and remaining vehicles passed Start Point 09:15 hours, reached RV 10:00 hours.

Brigade convoy late. Found in correct station 11:15 hours. Reached PRESTON Staging Camp 20:15 hours.  ?  ?  ? One vehicle left at WIGAN with  ? trouble.

3 November 1942 PRESTON.

Left PRESTON 09:40 hours. Reached BARROW-IN-FURNESS 14:00 hours.

4 November 1942 BARROW-IN-FURNESS.

Cleaning up and settling in. Workshop Platoon on detachment in BARROW. Workshop further away still. Vehicle park over 2 miles from Camp. Very constricted room. Weather very misty.

5 November 1942

Ordinary routine. Drizzle and mist.

6 November 1942

Ordinary routine. Company informed they are to move to GRASMERE. Rain.

7 November 1942

Officer Commanding and 2 i/c to GRASMERE on recce. Ordinary routine. Showery.

8 November 1942

Church Parade. Advance Party to GRASMERE 12:00 hours. Fine and sunny.

9 November 1942

Preparation for move to GRASMERE. Weather fine.

10 November 1942

Company move to GRASMERE at 09:00 hours – arrive 11:30 hours. Showery.

11 November 1942 GRASMERE.

Armistice Day. Two Minutes silence observed. Ordinary routine. Fine.

12 November 1942

Ordinary routine and cleaning up still. Weather fine.

13 November 1942

Ordinary routine. Moved vehicles. B Platoon from hill to village. Better standing. Weather fine.

14 November 1942

Ordinary routine. Football and baths. Fine.

Ordinary routine. The Company can take part in Exercise MONTE CARLO II. Fine.

Ordinary routine. Informed by S.I.M.T. that Captain SIBLEY will not be returning to Unit. Fine.

25 November 1942

Exercise MONTE CARLO. 8 vehicles , 2 motorcycles out for inspection and day and night drive. Fine.

26 November 1942

Officer Commanding to 70 Brigade Company RASC for Court of Enquiry.

Exercise MONTE CARLO ended. Brigade Commander visited Unit.

27 November 1942

Ordinary routine. Fine.

28 November 1942
