The Citation for Lt Col Ross's OBE can be found in The national Archives at File Reference WO 373/83/162 and reads as follows:-

"Lt Col ROSS has been employed as DAQMG (M) (Plans) at 21 Army Group since May, 1943, and as AQMG (M) (Stores shipping) since April 1944. In the earlier period he carried the main weight of the detailed movement planning with conspicuous success and cheerfulness, despite consistent late hours and the difficulties of the many conflicting interests and personalities. In the later period he was responsible for the detail work in connection with the Stores Shipment programme and General WILLIAMS, the Director of Freight Movement, War Office, has specially mentioned to me that Lt Col RoOSS' excellent work and co-operation has been a major factor which enabled the many emergency shipping demands and alterations to be successfully met."

Some information on this Page has been extracted from the Commemorative Booklet, prepared by Major Langley, covering the period from D-Day to VE Day in addition to that extracted from the War Diaries. There are issues around the possible duplication of names which remain to be clarified.
