The Brigade spent from October 1940 to December 1941 as a key part of the Iceland Garrison, defending [[Reykjavik]] and the Western Coast from possible invasion, and training hard in difficult conditions.

There was one significant move of locations during their stay on the island, to reflect a change in Brigade responsibilities within Iceland Force, or Alabaster Force, and this is reflected in the list below of the places in which Units were based - often in Platoon-sized bases, or even in Section Posts, such as [[Skagastrond]].
