Lieutenant Murray is mentioned positively several times in Dr Tom Renouf's book "Black Watch" in the chapter dealing with the battle of [[Rauray]] and, indeed, was his Platoon Commander.  After the transfer of men to the 5th Battalion, Black Watch, on the disbanding of the Tyneside Scottish, Lt Murray served in A Company and as the Platoon Commander of it's 7 Platoon - in which L/Cpl Renouf also served.
