&amp;quot;On 10 JUN Maj TYZACK landed in NORMANDY in comd of 294 Fd Coy.  From that date until the end of DEC when he left my comd on posting to A.R.E. he led his Fd Coy with conspicuous efficiency, gallantry and devotion to duty.&lt;br /&gt;

In the break-out from the bridgehead his Coy built three brs under enemy shell-fire, enabling the leading inf bde to force the retreat of the enemy.&lt;br /&gt;

He organised a combined A.R.E. and RE aslt team in sp of the attack of 146 Inf Bde on Le Harve on 11/12 Sep during which his own men cleared mines under fire and smashed cement road blocks to assist our armour to enter the city.&lt;br /&gt;

Never did his unit fail in a task.  They built many brs, 12 under fire.  Always he was present at times of difficulty and danger.  He was unsparing of himself and heedless of fatigue and danger. The Citation was put forward by the Commander of 11 Group Royal Engineers and endorsed by the Lieutenant General in Command of 8 Corps District.&lt;br /&gt;
