DALTON.

Throughout the month the Battalion carried out Weapon Training and Battle Drill practice.

11th December 1942

A gift of Xmas Puddings was received from H.M. The Queen (Colonel in Chief of the Black Watch).

12th December 1942

Major W.L. McGregor was commended in Western Command Orders for his action when a grenade rebounded among the students during a bomb-throwing practice at the Divisional Street Fighting School.

17th December 1942

The Battalion won the Brigade Steeplechase.

22nd December 1942

A Xmas Card was received from the G.o.C. Major-general H.O. Curtis C.B., D.S.O., M.C.

23rd December 1942

Xmas Greetings were received from Col. J.R. Hall, Honorary Colonel of the Battalion.

25th December 1942

The Commanding Officer addressed all troops during their Xmas dinner.

28th December 1942

The Advance Party left for LLANELLY, South Wales.
