1 May 1942 PONTYPRIDD.

13:00 hours. Baggage party with baggage complete arrives.

2 May 1942

Baggage being unloaded.

3 May 1942

Regimental Church Parade at St Catherine’s Church.

4 May 1942

06:00 hours. Regiment less maintenance parties proceeded on leave.

6 May 1942

12 new 25 pdrs and 24 trailers arrived Pontypridd Station and were unloaded.

8 May 1942

Regimental light transport arrived at Swansea from Iceland and was collected. 24 new Guy Quads were delivered.

9 May 1942

One truck of G 1098 stores arrived at station.

14 May 1942

One Officer and 12 Other Ranks left for Swansea to take party in Exercise Q5.

17 May 1942

Cadre party returned from Iceland.

18 May 1942

1st Leave Party returned from disembarkation.

19 May 1942

2nd Leave Party left on disembarkation. Further instalment of vehicles arrived from Iceland, leaving only 388 Battery vehicles and Light Aid Detachment.

20 May 1942

C.O. returns from leave.

21 May 1942

G.O.C. South Wales District visits the Regiment.

22 May 1942

C.O. attends training conference at 49 Divisional HQ near Whitney.

2/Lt Wignall leaves Regiment on posting abroad.

23 May 1942

Nothing of importance.

24 May 1942

Nothing of importance.

25 May 1942

G.O.C. in C. Western Command accompanied by B.R.A., C.R.A. and G.O.C. South Western Area with G.O.C. 49 Division visits Regiment. 1 Troop 386 Guns, Quads, trailers with 8 Carriers arrive from Iceland.

C.O. visits and reconnoitres PENYBONT. Captain Stephenson I.G. (? Irish Guards) reports for short attachment.
