The RASC Enlistment Book shows that Pte Wainwright transferred to the RASC from the Black Watch.  This is suspected of being an error as the reference to his transfer is a Part Two Order from the 11th Battalion of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders - which was verified in their Enlistment Book.  He had, of course, served in the Black Watch when he was a member of 1st Tyneside Scottish.
