Transferred to the Black Watch 1/2/1940 and posted to the 1st Tyneside Scottish. Served with the B.E.F. in Northern France. Apparently evacuated to the UK. Discharged under King's Regulations 1935 Para 383 (xvi) 2/12/40 as unfit for further service. (Enlistment Book also shows a Discharge dated 20/7/47 but it is not clear to what this refers - it may refer to discharge from the Reserve).
