By this time the 70th Infantry Brigade had been disbanded and the men dispersed, largely in Company-sized groups, to other Battalions in the 49th, 50th and 51st Divisions as replacement or reinforcements.

The 187th Field Ambulance continued its sterling work in support of 56th Infantry Brigade in particular – the Brigade which had replaced the 70th in the 49th Division.

As this Memorial's coverage comes to an end as the Brigade ceased to exist in late August 1944, the later detailed War Diary for this Field Ambulance was not researched or photographed.

Should any reader, however, have any queries about the work done by 187th Field Ambulance, what we do have in our archive of War Diary material are the pages from the Quarterly Reports covering; June to September 1944, September to December 1944 and March to June 1945. These are set out very much like the June 1944 Report, which has already been included within this War Diary.

Should any reader have queries about the content of that Report, please contact the Lead Researcher at 70brigade@newmp.org.uk and an attempt will be made to answer any queries.
