1 May 1942 – Tan-Lan

454 Mountain Battery carried out field firing with 70th Infantry Brigade.

2 May 1942 – Portmadoc.

2/Lt A ap Evans joined from 121 OCTU and inter-Regimentally posted to 451 Battery.

4 May 1942

C.O. visited detachment at Weedon.

5 May 1942

70th Infantry Brigade 3-day Exercise “Drum”. 454 Battery and Composite Battery 451 and 452 took part.

6 May 1942

C.O. attended War Establishment Committee meeting, War Office, London. Draft IV of new War Establishment passed with minor amendments.

8 May 1942

Mr Smoker? of S.E.E.(?Signals Engineering) visited unit and discussed signal racks etc.

10 May 1942 - Trawsfynydd.

454 Battery practiced at Trawsfynydd.

11 May 1942

451 and 452 Batteries practiced at Trawsfynydd.

15 May 1942

451 Mountain Battery moved from Trawsfynydd P.C. to Dolfriog, Home Farm, Penrhyndeudraeth – under canvas.

16 – 17 May 1942

452 Battery moved from Coed-y-Brenin hutted camp to canvas camp – Zetland – Penrhyndeudraeth.

18 May 1942

RHQ moved from Portmadoc. RHQ established at Dolfriog House, Penrhyndeudraeth.

22 May 1942 – Penrhyndeudraeth.

C.O. and Adjutant visited detachment at Weedon. Major Ruston assumed command of 451 Battery.

23 May 1942 – Weedon.

Remount test judged by C.O. and Adjutant.

2/Lts Salmon and Pyne and 2 NCOs rejoined Regiment from 15th Winter Warfare Training Course – Iceland.

25 May 1942

Horse Show and Sports – detachment at Weedon.

26 May 1942 – Penrhyndeudraeth.

C.O. and Adjutant rejoined Regiment at Dolfriog House, Penrhyndeudraeth.

29 May 1942

39 Other Ranks of reinforcement draft arrived.

30 May 1942

Lieut W L Hollingsworth joined from 123 OCTU – inter-Regimentally posted to 452 Mountain Battery.
