1 December 1942 – Muir of Ord.

Located Muir of Ord. 3rd Mountain Regiment Royal Artillery formed.

Major J S W Tr??shure Royal Artillery promoted Lieutenant Colonel and assumes Command of 3rd Mountain Regiment, Royal Artillery.

Captain E S W Hancock posted to 3rd Mountain Regiment.

Captain V O Cohen posted from 3rd Mountain Regiment.

Lieut W P S Pyne RA and Lieut W L Hollingsworth promoted to Acting Captains with effect from 1st December.

Captain H R Peyton RA posted to 3rd Mountain Regiment and relinquishes appointment of Adjutant.

3 December 1942

Major M T Youngs RA assumes appointment of Second in Command of Unit. Captain L G Loveys RA assumes appointment of Adjutant with effect from 1st December.

6 December 1942

Exercise “GOLIATH” commences.

Major M T Young RA assumes Command of Regiment during absence of Lieut. Colonel J V D Radford on course of instruction.

7 December 1942

Lieut. Colonel Radford attends course of instruction at School of Artillery.

17 December 1942

Exercise “GOLIATH” ends.

18 December 1942

Lieut. Colonel Radford returns from course of instruction and assumes Command of the Regiment.

20 December 1942

59 men posted to Unit.

22 December 1942

44 men posted to 2nd Reserve Field Regiment RA with effect from 22 December 1942.

31 December 1942

Regiment still located Muir of Ord.
