Died/Killed in action DIED of Avitaminosis and malnutrition 28/10/1943 (Regimental Orders show 29/10/1943). Buried initially in Grave 792N at Chungkai by Reverend Thompson. Re-interred in Grave 6.N.14. Chungkai War Cemetery. Headstone inscription reads:- "SAFE IN GOD'S KEEPING. IN SILENCE WE REMEMBER". Probate granted 13/10/1945 in Manchester to Mary Hannah Grundy, Harry's mother.
Home address Son of John and Mary Hannah Grundy of Shaw, Lancashire. At the time of the 1939 General Register, Harry was living at Crompton, Lancashire and working as a Big Piecer at a Cotton Spinning Mill. Father lived at 65, Beech Street, Shaw, Near Oldham.
