Died/Killed in action DIED of Dysentery 18/7/1943 (Regimental Orders show 17/7/1943). Buried initially in Grave 95, Kanchanaburi Paper Mill, by Reverend Davidson, Chaplain to the Forces. Re-interred 22/1/1946 in Grave 2.F.77. Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. Headstone inscription reads:- "IT MAY BE, IN THE BETTER LAND WE'LL KNOW THE MEANING OF OUR TEARS, AND UNDERSTAND".
Home address Son of Minnie Jane Midgley and stepson of Daniel McKay of Whitley Bay, Northumberland. Mother lived at 16, Laburnum Avenue, Whitley Bay.
