Headstone inscription reads:- "GOD'S GREATEST GIFT, REMEMBRANCE". Probate granted 8/8/1945 at Newcastle on Tyne to Grace Lilian Black, widow. William's address was given as 3, East Street North, Seaton Colliery.

At the time of the 1911 Census, when William was 4 months old, he lived with his parents at 21, Wellington Street, Southwick-on-Wear, Sunderland.
