Died/Killed in action DIED 1/8/1945 - cause of death Malaria. Interred Grave 95, 12 KIlometere Camp, Diitrey. Re-interred 4/4/1946 in Grave 6.E.66. Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. Headstone inscription reads:- "THE ETERNAL GOD IS THY REFUGE, AND UNDERNEATH ARE THE EVERLASTING ARMS".
Home address Son of Matthew and Margaret Anne Scott (nee Smith) of Wallsend, Northumberland. At the time of the 1939 General Register Matthew was living at 35, Thames Street East and was working in coal mining as a screen worker. Mother lived at 35, Thames Street East, Wallsend on Tyne.
