Battalion records suggest that he was believed to have died with F Force on the Burma-Siam border during 1943. CWGC information shows a different date of death.

No headstone inscription. Probate granted 6/7/1946 at Newcastle upon Tyne to Dorothy Doran - widow - apparently John's mother.
