No trace of Lt Humphries was found in the Royal Pioneer Corps records at their Museum Archive.

His original notice of commissioing in The London Gazette shows his forename as "Sidney" although other source used "Sydney". Despite using both variants of spelling details of his family and genealogical information have not yet been traced.
