INTRODUCTION

The batch of photographs set out below were kindly supplied by Claire Anderson - granddaughter of Private William Cooper, of the Battalion, who served as a Driver and was with the Battalion in Iceland.

These are, in many respects, very typical of the kind of photograph held by many families in the North-East and are assumed to feature men of the Battalion, as well as Private Cooper himself. If anyone recognises one or more of the soldiers in these images please do contact the Lead Researcher who will be very pleased to hear of any such detail, and will share the information with the DCRO "Image of the Soldier" Project at Durham County Council.
