Ronald's entry in the DLI Enlistment Book shows a transfer to the Lincolnshire Regiment on 12/10/1943 with his documents being forwarded to the Section on 22/3/1944. It may be that he was re-transferred to the DLI before serving in Normandy but details need to be extracted from his Service Record to verify his military career. The War Office Casualty List which shows him being wounded on 27/7/1944 indicates he was a member of the 11th Battalion - but it is not unknown for these to be in error.
