Posted to 23rd Division 25/4/1940 - possibly to the Divisional details, meaning that he did not serve in Northern France. Posted back to the 11th Battalion DLI 21/6/1940 - presumably on their return via Dunkirk to Launceston. Deprived of 7 days pay on 25/7/1940 by the Commanding Officer on "Whilst on active service". He was sentenced to 2 years hard labour and forfeited 1857 days' pay. His sentence was suspended on 5/4/1947 having served 187 days.
