3rd September 1940 Bowden House, TOTNES.

During the last six weeks at both Stowford House and Bowden House great improvements have been made with shower baths, extra latrines etc.

Visit from DAQM who expressed himself very satisfied.

Orders received from War Office to mobilise under 79/MOB/3708/95 (AL) (HG 5 Mob.).

Deficiencies – personnel 3 (three to Records RAMC).

Deficiencies - RASC – vehicles – 14 30cwt arriving end of week. Four Ambulances broken down – must be replaced or repaired.

Orders received to mobilise.

6th September 1940

At 11:35 hours – Deficiency RAMC – NIL. Army Dental Corp Officer deficient.

RASC deficiencies – One Sergeant, one Corporal, one Electrician, one Fitter, 3 A/C.

Surplus 4 – sent to Records.

Lt Dowling RASC left to collect 14 30cwt lorries, deficiencies 2 Water Carts if allocated, 4 Ambulances broken.

15th September 1940

At 17:00 hours the unit left from TOTNES, IVY BRIDGE and NEWTON ABBOTT and moved to Denbury Camp with 70th Infantry Brigade – very good location.

Deficiencies re. mobilisation - One Warrant Officer and one man RAMC, one Officer RASC.
