At 06:30 hours units of the Brigade Group began moving by road to Winter locations. All vehicles reached the Staging Camp at PRESTON by 22:30 hours.

The final stage of the move took place and units arrived in the DALTON – ULVERSTON area during the afternoon.

Divisional Cloth Model Exercise No 1 was held at THE BARN, WHITNEY and was attended by the Brigade Commander, Brigade Major, and the C.Os. of the 1st Tyneside Scottish and 11th DLI.

4th November 1942

The Brigade Commander and Brigade Major arrived in the new Brigade area.

5th November 1942

Camps were visited and extensive enquiries made regarding Ranges and Training Areas. The Brigade Commander proceeded on leave.

Lt Col E.V. Lang left 10th DLI to take up an appointment as A.A. & Q.M.G. 9th Armoured Division.
