Unit located at Penclawydd Camp, Penclawydd, Near Swansea.

The period under review was devoted to training on a Battery basis, with Regimental exercises as noted.

Waterproofing demonstration at WALCOT, attended by CO, Second-in-Command and Battery Commanders.

8 June 1943

Unit Selection Board (O.C.T.U.) held. Composition - Lt Col K F Mackay Lewis, Major F G Paul and Major G C R Bailey. Six candidates interviewed. Result 2 passed 4 failed.

12 – 14 June 1943

All guns comparatively calibrated by fall of shot method.

15 June 1943

Regimental Signals classification. Result, Passed 14, Failed 11. Passed subject to retest in V.S. 7 (subsequently passed on 22nd).

20 June 1943

Regimental Ceremonial Parade.

21 June 1943

Officers cloth model exercise in co-operation with 11th DLI.

22 June 1943

A.C.C. Cooks classification. Result 11 passed (total of ACC personnel).

Officers discussion. Employment of 3” Mortar with 11th DLI.

23 June 1943

Visit of M.G.R.A. Major General O.M. Lund C.B., D.S.O.

25 June 1943

Regimental Exercise UNCLE MIKE.

26 June 1943

Anti-Tank shooting Sennybridge.

29 June 1943

Regimental Driver/Operator classification. 27 Passed 6 Failed.

30 June 1943

386 Battery practice, Black Mountain Range in co-operation with 10th DLI.

Strength of Regiment 40 Officers 663 Other Ranks.
