1st Tyneside Scottish August 1940

Unfortunately, up to the time of writing, it has not been possible to trace a copy of the Battalion War Diary for this month.

It is appreciated that a major reconstruction of the Battalion was in progress, arising from the scale of losses due to casualties in action, and men taken prisoner, but no War Diary has been found until the file copy for the period up to November 1940, by which time the Battalion was in Iceland.

Significant transfers of personnel took place to make up the strength of the Battalion over the missing period.
