2nd – 4th June 1943 PEMBREY.

The Medical Platoon attended a three-day course of instruction for Stretcher-Bearers with 187 Field Ambulance in preparation for Exercise “EYE OPENER II“

8th June 1943 VELINDRE

A draft of 60 Other Ranks was posted to the Battalion from No 8 Infantry Training Centre, PERTH.

Captain G.C. Howard, Black Watch, joined the Battalion and assumed command of D Company.

9th June 1943 PEMBREY.

From 09:30 hours the Medical Platoon took part in Exercise “EYE OPENER II”.

13th June 1943 PENALLY.

The Battalion Rifle Meeting took place.

15th June 1943 VELINDRE.

The Mortar Platoon rejoined the Battalion after having been attached to the 49th Division Battle School as Demonstration Platoon.

16th June 1943

At 04:00 hours the Advance Party of the Anti-Tank Platoon left for HARLECH.

At 09:00 hours the Main Body of the Anti-Tank Platoon departed for HARLECH.

17th June 1943

The Carrier Platoon left for the Brigade Carrier Concentration at LLANGATTOCK.

The preliminary heats took place of the Battalion Sports.

18th June 1943

The Anti-Tank Platoon rejoined the Battalion.

The Battalion Sports took place.

20th June 1943

Battalion Officers acted as Umpires at a Home Guard Exercise.

At 05:00 hours A and B Companies left for a Company March to NEWQUAY.

22nd June 1943

A draft of 36 Other Ranks were posted to the Battalion from No 8 Infantry Training Centre, PERTH.

23rd June 1943

A and B Companies rejoined the Battalion.

The preliminary heats for the Brigade Sports were held at CARMARTHEN.

24th June 1943

The Brigade Sports took place at CARMARTHEN.

26th June 1943

At 15:00 hours a Platoon of A Company left to take part, as the Tank-Hunting Platoon, at the Brigade Carrier Concentration.

27th June 1943

C Company left for a Company March to NEWQUAY at 05:00 hours.

At 13:00 hours the Platoon of A Company rejoined the Battalion.

28th June 1943

Lt Col Oxley left the Battalion to take up the command of 14th Battalion, The Durham Light Infantry with effect from 1st July 1943.

The Carrier Platoon rejoined the Battalion.

The Medical Platoon left for a course of intensive training under the Commanding Officer of 187 Field Ambulance.

30th June 1943

C Company rejoined the Battalion.

The Intelligence Section and the relevant Officers left to attend a Course at the 49th Division Battle School.
