3rd May 1943 HAMILTON.

The Road Party moved to the new station.

6th May 1943

The Battalion moved to the new station.

The Road Party arrived at VELINDRE.

7th May 1943 VELINDRE.

The Battalion arrived at VELINDRE.

18th May 1943

Major N.D. Stevenson assumed command of the Battalion during the absence of Lt Col Oxley on leave.

The G.o.C. congratulated 2/Lt C. Mitchell and 2760068 L/Cpl J. Laing on a very satisfactory result obtained by them on their recent Courses (Small Arms School Hythe Wing and Provost Duties respectively) and awarded them the Polar Bear Medal.

20th May 1943

A Brigade Intelligence Exercise was held – “EYE OPENER No 1”.

22nd May 1943

An Inter-Battalion football match took place against 11th DLI which resulted in a draw – three goals each.

24th May 1943

The Army Commander congratulated Lt K.D. Buchanan on obtaining a “Distinguished” classification on his Course at the Small Arms School, Netheravon.

25th May 1943

Lt Col Oxley re-assumed command of the Battalion on his return from leave.

26th May 1943

23 Other ranks were taken on strength from No 8 Infantry Training Centre, PERTH.

31st May 1943

Brigade Signal Exercise “EYE OPENER 2” was held.
