13 April 1944 SUTTON COMMON.

09:00 hours. Company with attached 128 E Company RASC moves forward to BLAXHALL HEATH 87/8274.

14 April 1944

17:55 hours. Visit of G.O.C. in C. 2nd Army, Lieutenant General M.C. DEMPSEY CB, DSO, MC. Accompanied by Major General E H Barker CB, DSO.

Company engaged in fascine making.

15 April 1944

Army Forms W 3008 and 3009A issued and includes 23 Bridging Platoon Royal Engineers and No. 9 Light Aid Detachment (both permanently attached). See Appendix C attached to the War Diary. These forms had either been removed from the original file, or were not photographed on the research visit to Kew.

21:30 hours. Finish of Exercise “BUMP”.

17 April 1944

Unit returns to permanent location.

19 April 1944 LODDON.

00:01 hours. Unit censorship of mail is initiated.

2067942 Staff Sergeant (Mechanic) posted in ex 174 Workshop and Park Company Royal Engineers.

22 April 1944

Unit proceeds to BECCLES to join remainder of Divisional Engineers for inspection by His Majesty King George VI.
