From this point, as the 508th Field Park Company had been posted away from the 23rd Division and had been allotted a role in the defence of London there was no further involvement with the 70th Infantry Brigade.

We have, on file, the War Diary for the Field Park Company up to and including December 1941. This shows that the Company was posted from London to Cornwall on 8th January 1941 on being posted to join 8 Corps Troops, Royal Engineers.

On 4th March 1941 an accident occurred in a minefield which resulted in the deaths of Sgt Crombie and L/Cpl Nicholson and injury to Driver Grieve.
