1 June 1940 - 3 June 1940

Company split up at various reception barracks after evacuation from Dunkirk.

4 June 1940 Launceston.

Company commenced re-assembling at Launceston.

5 June 1940 - 6 June 1940

Company continuing to re-assemble at Launceston.

7 June 1940 - 9 June 1940

23rd Divisional R.E. commenced to move to Scraesdon Fort, near Torpoint.

10 June 1940 – 16 June 1940 Scraesdon Fort.

Commenced six days leave for whole Company.

17 June 1940 – 21 June 1940

Commenced re-equipping and billeting of soldiers.

22 June 1940

G.O.C. visited Fort and inspected Company. Highly praised for work carried out in France, demolition work etc. thus allowing the evacuation of B.E.F. to continue by preventing too rapid advance of the enemy.

233rd Field Company left the Division and posted to 50th Division.

23 June 1940

Lt Col. Kennedy, C.R.E. 23rd Division accompanied Divisional R.E. to Church Parade, Antony Parish Church. At Ceremonial Parade he addressed 508 and 507 Companies and stated that he was leaving the Division and handed over to Major Cameron.

24 June 1940

Training and re-equipment of Company.

25 June 1940

Training and re-equipment of Company. Company handed over to 2/Lt Bligh. 2/Lt Scott acting for Adjutant, HQ.

26 June 1940 Scraesdon Fort.

Training and re-equipment of Company continued.

27 June 1940

Training and re-equipment of Company continued. 2/Lt D.E. Thackeray returned to duty from leave.

28 June 1940

Training etc continued. Captain C.F. Byers returned to duty. 2/Lt Scott reverts to 2nd in command on return of Adjutant. Major Cameron leaves on recce of new area for Companies.

24:00 hours. First air-raid of war, on Plymouth. No damage done.

29 June 1940

508th Field Park Company and 507 Field Company prepared to move off from Scraesdon to new area.

30 June 1940

Preparations continued.
