1 August 1942

Five storemen from Field Park Section went to “G” Branch NOTTINGHAM for O.F.P. Course.

4 August 1942

Major LIDDELL, G II 49 Division, visited Unit to inspect training.

5 August 1942

185539 2/Lt TURNBULL posted to Unit.

12 August 1942

2/Lt TURNBULL proceeded on 7 days’ leave.

13 August 1942

49 Divisional Exercise MONTE CARLO.

14 August 1942

Lt Col ROBINS G 1 Technical Training WESTCO visited Unit.

15 August 1942

S/Sgt BROWNLESS AA Instructor Field with 2 Instrument Mechanics attached to Command Workshops BRIDGEND for duty.

20 August 1942

Captain DAVIDSON recces KNUTSFORD with a view to move to that area. Personnel accommodation good – workshop accommodation NIL. Reports sent to ADOS. DADME 49 Division and 70 Infantry Brigade.

23 – 25 August 1942

Major J D NOBLE took over DADME duties in absence of Major BRIDGER during Divisional Exercise HOTSPUR.

31 August 1942

G1098 approximately 80% complete of non-controlled stores.

Main items not received; kits of handtools for Motor Transport Fitters and Armourers, Electricians and Instrument Mechanics. Forges.

30cwt GS, 15cwt GS and 1 motorcycle only transport available.

Men occupied in regimental and general infantry training and periods at REME workshop.

The only other document traced in the War Diary file was the covering letter, under which submission and receipt of the Diary for July was acknowledged and that for August 1942 was submitted to The War Office on 22nd September 1942.
