In addition to many men of 70th Brigade, the author's maternal uncle, Lance Corporal John Lawrence QUINN - after whom he is named - KILLED in ACTION on the morning of 15th JUly 1944 in the preparation for the assault on Esquay - is buried here together with the other men of his Section in 2nd Battalion, City of Glasgow Highlanders, Highland Light Infantry.

The headstones of all the 70th Brigade casualties buried in the Cemetery were also photographed and were added to the individual Memorial Pages as a modest tribute to their sacrifice.
