Commemorated on Column 47 of the Singapore Memorial (presumably his remains were not able to be recovered from the initial burial). Probate was granted on 12/4/1946 at Newcastle upon Tyne to Elizabeth J Hine, his widow.

At the time of the 1939 Register, Gordon was a single man, living in Acklington and working as a Lorry Driver in the building industry. He married Elizabeth J Hume in Northumberland on 5/10/1940.
