Prisoner of War Yes - captured 15/2/1942 at Singapore when the force was surrendered.
Died/Killed in action EXECUTED 23/3/1943 (Regimental records state 30/3/1943) at Chungkai after escaping from Tarkilen on the night of 6/7/March 1943. Initially interred in Grave No. 3, Chungkai Cemetery, outside the Camp. Re-interred 19/3/1946 in Grave 8.K.30. Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. Headstone inscription reads:- "IN LOVING MEMORY OF MY DEAR SON R.I.P".
Home address Son of Timothy and Ann Kenneally of Bishopstown County Cork, Irish Republic. Timothy and his family had lived at Carrigrohane, Ballencollic, County Cork, Eire at the time of the 1911 Census.
