Posted 70th (Young Soldiers) Battalion, DLI at Westwick Camp Barnard Castle. Selected as potential Officer and made Lance Corporal. Battalion disbanded July 1942. Posted to Binks House Farm for intensive Infantry training. Posted 10th Bn DLI at Hamilton - probably late July/early August 1943. Attached in early 1944 to Royal Warwickshire Regiment at Deal. Posted to No 4 ITC and sent on OCTU Course then returned to No 4 ITC for duties as an Instructor with A Company, after attending an Instructors' Course. Class A release 2/5/1947.
