As a result of providing evidence of documents signed by Lt Mitchell, and references to his role as Battalion Intelligence Officer since joining the Battalion, including completing the War Diary, CWGC amended their commemorative details to show that he was serving with 1st Tyneside Scottish when he was mortally wounded. CWGC's willingness to update their records is much appreciated.

His commemorative record can be found here.
