1 August 1943 GALSTON.

All the Company, less those on leave and camp duties, employed on “mock-up” Assault locality at AUCHINLONGFORD Farm as Training Programmes at Appendices 21 to 34 inclusive. See Appendices 21 to 34 attached to the War Diary. These Appendices were either not photographed at Kew, or were omitted from the original War Diary file.

1 Infantry Platoon 11th Royal Scots Fusiliers, 1 Infantry Platoon 6 Duke of Wellington’s Regiment and 1 Pioneer Platoon 7th Duke of Wellington’s Regiment and “N” Section Signals under command 756 Field Company Royal Engineers. All except Pioneer Platoon 7th DWR in camp at ALTON near GALSTON.

5 – 10 August 1943

Major Grimsdell attended Commandants’ Royal Engineers Planning Course at Dundonald I & II Combined Operations Training Centre, DUNDONALD.

17 August 1943

Major Grimsdell attended Mechanical Equipment demonstration at NEWARK.

21 – 25 August 1943

Major Grimsdell attended Divisional Exercise PINWE.

24 August 1943

Lieutenant Paterson attended Mechanical Equipment demonstration at NEWARK.
